It's a brutal, long hike up to the top of the Sandia mountains. 8 miles up, then you can take the tram back down, or hike back down.

Not really for beginning hikers, but if you're dedicated it offers some great natural sights, well-manicured tread, and good exercise!

This intermediate to difficult trail is my favorite day trip. The La Luz trail will take you on a hike from the base of the breathtaking Sandia Mountains to the summit at over 10,000 feet. Enjoy amazing views and nature!
