Awesome place to hang out on the patio and gather in the Houston vibe. It's 5 minutes away if you walk (which i recommend if it's not too hot out). Tons of other bars and restaurants close by to hop to and from

Cedar Creek is a coffee house, bar, and lounge in the Heights area. This bar has a casual atmosphere with a cozy log cabin interior. This is really a great place to relax and hangout on a Friday or Saturday evening after a long day’s work. There is a big wood fireplace inside and an outdoor patio area with big picnic tables. Cedar Creek serves beer, wine, spirits, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It has a full-service bar, but Cedar Creek is also a family-friendly environment. It’s open every day of the week, and customers can enjoy free Wi-Fi. One of the specialties is the delicious neighborhood barbecue.

from Houston Press - “Cedar Creek Cafe is a beer-and-burger joint that calls itself a Hill Country Cafe and wishes it was in Austin. The yearning for the vibe of Texas' hipster capital is overwhelming. Take advantage of the free wi-fi -- when it is free that is -- and soak in the frat element here. The excellent house java is supplied by Katz Coffee Company, and the breakfasts are excellent, even though the restaurant doesn't open until 11 a.m. on most days.”
