A great walk which is very steep at parts but you get rewarded with some amazing views at the top!

Access via forestry road. You'll need a good level of fitness to climb to the top but a great trek

Take the forestry road immediately on left (from Coromandel) after the Waiau Waterworks. Follow forestry roads that don't say 'private road' until you see Castle Rock on your left and an unsigned track. Quite steep but worth the puff!
