Step back in time with some great Southern Hospitality in a historic hotel bar. The service is impeccable, and while the atmosphere is "fancy," the dress-code is "come as you are." There is sometimes a jazz ensemble playing in the corner, and the menu has many southern favorites. I recommend asking for the complimentary "fried blackeyed peas" as a table snack, and the appetizer of special-recipe Pimento cheese on house-made soda crackers is TO DIE FOR. Gumbos, salads, fancy meats, sandwiches, and charcuterie for all. The cocktails are STELLAR. Especially the "debutante." The mint-julep is a solid choice for first-time visitors. A little pricey but great late at night.

If you're into mixology, this is your stop! The bar is located inside the historic Capital Hotel. Grab a Moscow Mule and head out to the balcony on the 2nd floor. You won't regret it!
