Cosy free museum that has a coffee shop restaurant that looks onto the garden. In the summer there is an open herb garden. It displays character homes and has local artists working there too!

While a museum specialising in the decorative interior of homes throughout the ages might not sound immediately interesting, it would be a waste to dismiss this beautiful museum without giving it a try. Housed in a beautiful Grade I listed almshouse, the fully-fitted period rooms allow visitors to travel through homes from 1600 to the present day, while also learning about how daily life has dramatically changed during that time. Described as a ‘furnished time machine’, its a fascinating tribute to domestic life in the UK over the years.
