Cross Scotland’s only lake to explore a peaceful, wooded island chosen as a monastic sanctuary. Robert the Bruce sought solace at Inchmahome Priory and Mary Queen of Scots found safety here as a child.

Great place for a day out if the weather is nice - pack a picnic and take the boat across Scotland's only lake (the rest are lochs). Explore the island and what's left of the Priory, then find a quiet spot to eat lunch and enjoy the scenery.

Lovely boat trip to the island. Great place to explore for adults and children alike. May is best month to see the bluebells.
