The Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes is one of the most spectacular trails in the western United States. It was named one of the 25 top trails in the nation in 2010 by the Rails to Trails Conservancy. The trail runs for 73 miles on smooth asphalt.

This segment of the trail is a great ride for kids and adults as well. It starts at Heyburn State Park, Chatcolet Bridge, 7 miles to Harrison for food and ice cream.

You can access the trail from Heyburn State Park. From this access site it is only a 7 mile bike ride to the picturesque town of Harrison on the East side of lake CDA. You cross to the other side of the lake via an old railroad bridge :-)
