The Kilbeggan Distillery Experience is situated in the heart of Ireland. It is in the small town of Kilbeggan in Co. Westmeath. This old distillery, which had closed in 1954, is now once again distilling and maturing whiskey and is open to visitors all year round. It is the oldest continually licensed distillery in Ireland and has enjoyed the good times, but also the tough times for Irish whiskey, over its 250 year history. There are daily guided tours with multi-lingual guides or guests can take a self guided tour. The tour ends with a complimentary sample of Kilbeggan Irish Whiskey

As the oldest licensed distillery of its kind in Ireland, the Kilbeggan Distilling Company has seen its share of trials and triumphs. Founded in 1757, the distillery spent the next 200 years making a whiskey beloved the world over. So when tough times ground its gears to a halt, the town came together to save the whiskey that built the town. It wasn’t quick or easy, but they persevered. Today, every bottle produced stands as proof that the spirit of Kilbeggan never wavered.

Kilbeggan distillery is only a short walk from Mona's Cottage. The distillery is a fantastic way to spend an afternoon when your in Kilbeggan. Book a tour and enjoy a whiskey.
