The Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive is a one-way 11-mile drive that begins at Lust Road and ends on Jones Road in Orange County, Fla. The drive is open Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and federal holidays between sunrise and sunset. The drive is closed other days due to ongoing restoration work. The entrance gate will be open during daylight hours and will close approximately one hour prior to sunset to allow visitors to complete the drive and exit the property prior to sunset.

The Lake Apopka North Shore is a true diamond in the rough. The restoration of former muck farms has transformed this area into a haven for wildlife and a jewel for the recreating public. On the Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive you can see dozens of alligators from the comfort of your car. The drive is one-way covering 11-miles with a speed limit of 10 mph. It begins at Lust Road and ends on Jones Avenue. Restrooms and a picnic pavilion are available on the property The Lake Apopka Loop Trail follows the lake’s edge covering more than 20 miles and providing hiking and biking opportunities. There also is a marked white trail suitable for hiking, biking and horseback riding (6-mile loop) on Clay Island, with four observation towers, including one overlooking the west shoreline of Lake Apopka.
