The clearest water you can get near Berlin. A great lake for swimming in the summer and for walking. It's a nice bike ride from S Bernau.

Lake Leipnitz is a lake located northeast of the city of Berlin, in the rural district of Barnim, in the state of Brandenburg, at an elevation of 49.7 meters; It has an area of 117 hectares. Crystal clear and refreshing water and everything else a lake can offer: Hike around the lake in one day, visit the island via ferry and have a snack at the island's own rustic beer garden (our suggestion: potato salad). Or rent a boat or have a swim in the official swimming place: There you get everything you need for a nice day outside the city.
