While mass agriculture is not possible in the way it is in other countries, because of Cayman's terrain, local farmers do grow vegetables and fruit offered for sale at the market. The Farmers' Market is located at the Cricket Grounds in George Town, Grand Cayman, between the Midtown Plaza (Butterfield Bank) and the west end of the Owen Roberts International Airport, in Cayman Islands. While the market is open Mondays to Saturdays (in the mornings), the BEST day to visit is Saturday morning, between 7:30 am to noon. Enjoy fresh coconut water, sugar cane, locally made preserves and treats, and take in the fruit and vegetables in any given season. The vendors are super friendly are happy to explain their produce to you, if anything looks unknown to you.
