2 hours away This place is as beautiful as Lake Louise without as many tourists. Borrow our floats to enjoy the glacier water. All kinds of wild life within a 2 hour drive from High River. Hike around the lake, see the small falls into the lake. picnic areas, boat launch, hiking trails and more. Upper Kananaskis Lake is a natural lake that was turned into a reservoir. Upper Kananaskis Lake, along with the Lower Kananaskis Lake, is located in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park.

Upper Kananaskis Lake Trail is a 15.3 kilometer heavily trafficked loop trail features a small waterfall and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until October. Be sure to have proper footwear, particularly if you go before the snow melts. Alberta government now charges a daily use fee for "the K Country" so be sure not to overlook it.

Although a bit far away, but believe me it’s rewarding! Easy trail with magnificent view of the lake, waterfall, and mountains beyond. Family friendly.
