The highest density of Islamic monuments in the world, they say. ... You will find architectural treasures here spanning the last 1000-900 years. Lots of mosques and their minarets that offer wonderful views of the area. While here, visit the newly renovated Blue mosque & its minaret. Another great place to visit is the Gayer-Anderson museum near the Ibn Tulun mosque. A stroll, or lunch, at the nearby Azhar park is also highly recommended, especially if you want to get some rest from the busy streets. My favourite is a slightly delapidated yet very lively al-Merdani mosque :)
