Botanical Garden is an oasis of beauty and peace in the heart of Wroclaw, it is a "living museum", It is also a research and didactic centre and a favourite place for Wrocław inhabitants to rest. It is located on the northern side of the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist and the Church of the Holy Cross, partly within the historical Ostrów Tumski, about 2 km from the Market Square. It is the second (after the Cracow garden) oldest garden in Poland, entered on the list of monuments of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.

Ogród botaniczny wraz z pozostałością po zakopanym kanale Odry - tworzącym prawdziwą wyspę z Ostrowia Tumskiego. You can find there a piece of old Odra River- covered years ago. Thanks to that water channel Ostrów Tumski was an actual island (now it is a half-island).
