Enter by Bristol University’s Archeology Department and find yourself in the magical oasis of Royal Fort Gardens. Prince Rupert surrendered to the Parliamentarians here in the English Civil war, and later the famous Tyndall family commissioned Humphrey Repton to create a beautiful English landscape garden. Today there are so many interesting areas to explore, a walled garden, a wildflower area and a nature reserve to increase biodiversity together with a pond, woodlands and nature walks. Meanwhile Royal Fort House continues to gaze down graciously to Jeppe Hein's stunning mirror maze 'follow Me', designed to celebrate the University's centenary.
