About an hour and a half away from Denver, Estes park is definitely worth a visit! It’s known as a base for the Rocky Mountain National Park, home to wildlife including elk and bears, plus miles of trails. The park’s Trail Ridge Road winds past craggy peaks, forests and tundra. Nearby are the wilderness areas of Roosevelt National Forest. The Estes Park Aerial Tramway connects the town to the summit of Prospect Mountain for views over the valley

A beautiful drive up the Thompson Canyon will land you in Estes Park. Food, Shopping and easy access to Rocky Mountain National Park. Estes is a great destination year round. Due to its elevation, its cooler in the summer than Loveland. In the winter the tourism dies down so it is easier to get around and has a cozier feel. If you haven’t been, put it at the top of your list while visiting Loveland.

1.5 hour drive. Though it has “Park” in the name, it is actually a town. This is a great spot for tourists: Lots of shops, parks, lakes etc. Usually pretty busy. It is located just before the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. You don’t pay anything to visit the town, but there is a fee to enter RMNP.
