Cholula is a city and district located in the center west of the state of Puebla, near Puebla City, in central Mexico. Cholula is best known for its Great Pyramid, with the Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de los Remedios sanctuary on top, as well as its numerous churches.

You can find some pyramids, to many churches and good international restaurants. It’s a beautiful small city . By taxi you can arrive just in 25 minutes.

With the arrival of the Spaniards, the church of Santuario de la Virgen de los Remedios was built on top of the largest pyramid in the world, which is climbed by a paved slope. The journey, although heavy, is worth it for the view, since from the viewpoint you can see Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl. Cholula has 365 churches, dedicated to different deities, so they have daily patron saint festivities. In addition to mole, cemitas, chalupas, memelas and chiles en nogada, this region is famous for its Cholulteca cecina and Cholulteca soup: mushrooms, pumpkins, corn on the cob, rajas de poblano and diced cheese.
