This is a ground floor neoclassical building with a total area of 870 sq.m. which includes seven exhibition spaces. The Archaeological Museum of Volos hosts archaeological finds from all over Thessaly, from the Paleolithic period to the Roman years. The exhibition is developed in eight rooms on the ground floor of the old and new building and includes findings from the archaeological excavations that began in Thessaly in the early 20th century and continue to this day. Informative texts, drawings and photographs enrich the exhibition by enabling the non-specialist public to be thoroughly informed about the type and use of the archaeological finds, as well as the archeological sites from which these exhibits came.
