In the spring of 1948, a botanist named Sam and his wife settled here, inspired by a dream to live simply and study nature. They built this homestead cabin beside a stream, tucked beneath a canopy of giant trees. The cabin is a bright & welcoming studio, designed to bring the outdoors in with windows that frame the lush greenery all around. Inside, you'll find a fully equipped kitchen & a full bathroom featuring a soaking tub, perfect for unwinding to the soothing sounds of the flowing stream.

The Lone West

The Lone West invites you to experience and stay within the awe inspiring Eastern Mountain Sierras. Unobstructed views take your gaze over the expansive cattle ranch leading you to the foot of Mount Langley, Mount Whitney, Horseshoe Meadows, Mount Williamson and more. There is a view of meadows and guests are welcome to stroll the half-mile around the property and view the sheep, dogs and horses. Birdlife is abundant and nearby is Cat Haven ( featuring lions, snow leopards etc.). Yosemite is within reach for a day trip . Great coffee 2 minutes away!
