The unit is approx. 575 sq ft and has an open floor plan with kitchen/living area complete with custom craftsman details and cabinetry. There is a full kitchen for preparing meals with concrete countertops. The bedroom has a flat screen TV, writing desk, closet and comfortable queen sized bed.( There is an air matress available for extra person) The apartment is eco-friendly with solar-powered radiant heat and hot water. We are located just around the corner from the Rose Garden, Live Oak Park and convenient to the UC Berkeley, the Greek Theater, Lawrence Hall of Science. Tilden State Park and other East Bay Regional Parks are just a short drive and have fantastic biking and hiking trails with stunning views and many areas to explore. We are also short drive or BART ride to San Francisco. We are conveniently located for excursions to Marin County, Wine Country and all the other greater Bay Area destinations We live upstairs, are long term Berkeley residents and we are more than happy to answer questions and assist you in any way to make your stay more enjoyable. The house is only two blocks from the BART station, which is only 6 minutes away from UC Berkeley campus and half an hour from San Francisco. There’s also grocery stores, restaurants, coffee very close by in El Cerrito Plaza. This is a newly built, attached one bedroom in-law unit with private entrance in the quiet backyard. It offers absolutely privacy and is very bright, cozy, spacious. Shared laundry with us in the garage. Free Parking in the driveway. Safe, quiet and friendly neighborhood.

Easy access to local transit, freeway and conveniently located across from Ohlone bike trail & BART connecting much of the East Bay as well as a large open grass area featuring a ring of Redwoods and Codornices creek to explore. Your host family lives next door and will help you with anything you need during your stay.

La Casita

La Casita is situated in our back yard. It is on the 1st level of 4 (4th at street), so be prepared to use stairs. Although once arrived it is very peaceful and quiet. Downtown Berkeley is ~10-15 minute drive. El Cerrito Plaza Bart Station is a 6 minute drive. Solano Avenue (shops and restaurants) is a 5 minute drive (20 minute walk). Farmers Market every Sunday (10-2) is a 7 minute walk. We look forward to having you stay at our property and happy to answer any questions you may have.
