Welcome to The Stable - a serene solo respite, artist’s retreat or unique getaway for 1 to 6 registered guests. Close to I-85 & I-40, Duke, NCCU and the downtown Durham scene. Quaint & artsy Hillsborough, funky & fun Chapel Hill/UNC and Carrboro are a short drive. Eno River State Park, hiking & biking trails, and the Mountains to Sea Trail are 2.5 miles away. Full of unexpected details, including an outside labyrinth, The Stable is a comfortable sanctuary for all who want to settle in and smile.

Timberwood Tiny Home

Timberwood Tiny Home is a place to rest your head & heart in Efland, North Carolina. The peaceful retreat is down a country road approximately 10-minutes from downtown Hillsborough. The 200 square foot tiny home is on a private corner of 8-acres shared with our main house. It features Scandinavian-style details, two beds, a spacious porch, abundant natural light, a wood-fired hot tub, barrel sauna, cold plunge, and more. There are features of the home that may make it unsuitable for children.

Bungalow In the Woods - Close to UNC and Duke

Escape to a peaceful hillside retreat nestled in the woods, where the melodies of farm animals and wild birds sooth the soul. Our stylish and cozy bungalow features three charming porches that invite quiet reflection. Enjoy an easy-to-use indoor COMPOST TOILET. Treat yourself to our rejuvenating sauna (+$40) and wander through our garden & along wooded paths. While close to town, UNC, Duke and I-40, this getaway promises a restorative escape immersed in nature’s serenity and thoughtful living.

Cozy Cabin in the Countryside

Enjoy a cozy cabin with internet, ac/heat, kitchenette with fridge and microwave. Please note there is no water in the cabin and shower and toilet are located in the bathhouse just a few steps away. This comfortable Cabin has very easy quick access to all amenities including the showerhouse, picnic areas, lawn games, outdoor kitchen. Hottub is open. Property is within minutes of downtown Chapel Hill & Hillsborough, Raleigh, Durham are 20-30 minutes away. No Smoking or Vaping in Cabins

This detached guest studio in Carrboro is nestled in the trees. A great place to stay while visiting family and friends, or to explore the area. Vaulted ceilings, stained concrete floors, and south-facing windows make this a bright and cheery space. Enjoy the very comfortable bed with clean and sanitized linens and towels. Work at the expandable dining table or in the comfortable chair. Walk, drive, Uber, or take the free bus to many great restaurants, coffee shops nearby.

The Magnolia

The Magnolia is a multi-story treehouse, nestled on a charming wooded lot, minutes to downtown Hillsborough, NC. Built in the treetops, this bright and airy space is full of handmade touches and warm wood tones. You’ll feel like you’re getting away from it all in this modern, private tiny house in the trees, even though you’re just minutes from Duke, downtown Durham, shopping, and restaurants. It’s the perfect balance of peaceful retreat and city convenience. The home includes all the essentials — full kitchen, laundry, A/C, and high-speed internet — but many guests find themselves spending most of their time relaxing on the screened-in porch, listening to birds, and recharging.

King bed, Full bath, kitchenette with microwave, Keurig coffee maker, tea kettle, wifi, Roku TV, small refrigerator, sitting area, and workspace. Truly a unique and comfortable place to stay. Enjoy wine and coffee on the front porch or visit the local downtown coffee shops and restaurants. Our space is best suited for adults.
