Cliff Cabin — Outdoor Bath, National Park

Perched on a clifftop above southern Izu's volcanic coastline, Izu Cliff Cabin began in the 1970s as a local fisherman's hideaway, built for spectacular views. We've restored and reinvented it with care. The property sits inside a national park, with no man-made structures in sight. The bedroom, dining, and living areas all face the sea through oversized custom windows. The outdoor bath, sunken in reclaimed Meiji-era Izu stone, looks out onto two uninhabited islands. Sometimes smells like a barn for cows.

From the nearest bus stop, Midorinomura-Iriguchi, it's about 2 min walk. It is also very close (3min bus ride) to Sounzan, the terminal of the Hakone rope way.
