Gujo Hachiman is known as the “City of Water”, and owner & architect Yuri Fujisawa has lovingly restored this charming residence to embody the spirit of water. Located below the town’s medieval castle, this neighborhood was reserved for high-ranking samurai. While the historical streetscape is well-preserved, it remains an authentic neighborhood inhabited by friendly locals.

Villa “nagare” is a private stay for one group per day, located on a quiet hillside with views of the Central Alps. Cliff Cabin — Outdoor Bath, National Park

Perched on a clifftop above southern Izu's volcanic coastline, Izu Cliff Cabin began in the 1970s as a local fisherman's hideaway, built for spectacular views. We've restored and reinvented it with care. The property sits inside a national park, with no man-made structures in sight. The bedroom, dining, and living areas all face the sea through oversized custom windows. The outdoor bath, sunken in reclaimed Meiji-era Izu stone, looks out onto two uninhabited islands. From the nearest bus stop, Midorinomura-Iriguchi, it's about 2 min walk. It is also very close (3min bus ride) to Sounzan, the terminal of the Hakone rope way.
