A unique and breathtaking geological feature. The old man if Hoy can bereached via a walk from the Rackwick car park. The walk is an average of 3 hours round trip. In summer there are wildflowers and seabirds, including terns and puffins. In winter there are hares in their white fur.

In October, you can watch seal pups being born in the many geos. This is our favourite area for walking on Hoy. This is a rugged area and not suitable for wheels of any kind.
