Near the end of the road close to the south east side of Ullswater, escape from it all in this 17th Century cottage with river frontage. With 25 years of wonderful holidays there we hope we’ve thought of everything should the Cumbrian weather keep you indoors. There’s ping pong, a full-sized snooker table, darts, table football, countless games and the famous (at least in our household) Bridge End Beech Curling in the barn. In 2.5 acres of its own land, sometimes shared with sheep and red deer.

Our favourite eating places nearby are Swinside Inn and the Ivy Restaurant in Braithwaite. Keswick is a mere 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk for eating out, shopping and outdoor sports.

Retains many original features including latch doors, oak trusses and lintels. Situated in the tiny hamlet of Matterdale End it is a perfect retreat for couples wishing to stay together or one couple looking for a special destination. Ullswater is within easy reach for steam cruises and water sports. There are great walks from the door and Aira force is close by.

Garden Flat, Ullswater: Fabulous views and reviews

Stunning views of Ullswater... Very special... Perfect... Well equipped... Spotless and clean... Fantastic host... No picture of our panoramic view can really do justice to The Garden Flat. But we hope those words from our most recent reviews do. The flat is in an elevated 19th century former hunting lodge. The Ullswater Way walking route is at the end of the drive. Down the hill is the Brackenrigg Inn, with its own microbrewery, and Another Place, with lake swimming and spa facilities.
