The Carriage - A first class experience

Step back in time to this restored 1950's Pullman railway carriage, with the added luxury of 21st century amenities. The Carriage is set on tracks where the original line ran through Ullock on the fringe of the Lake District National Park, with the river Marron running below. Relive a unique journey with the addition of being able to step out onto the platform for sunbathing, breakfast or your evening meal then retire to the antique king sized bed with dressing room, ensuite and Eden toiletries.

The open coal fire makes the evenings extra cosy, making this a memorable holiday stay.

Tucked away in the quiet village of Lamplugh West Cumbria, 7 miles from Workington Town and Whitehaven also 6 miles from Cockermouth, central to lakes, Ennerdale, Crummock, Loweswater and Buttermere, woodland walks and local pub with amazing food, if you want to go hiking in the mountains or just relax then this little gem is for you, we are surrounded by fields and is a short walk to Cogra Moss and the welcoming fells around Lamplugh and nearby villages. suitable for coast to coast walkers.

Enjoy wonderful views of the Ennerdale fells, extending to Pillar and Steeple. The spacious, comfortable accommodation forms the main section of a larger semi-detached property. You will have the house to yourselves - we will be far away, but contactable should you have any questions or issues. It's self check-in and check-out. There are many good and varied walks nearby, as well as scenic drives and gastro pubs. You will need to bring groceries with you - breakfast is not supplied.

Our luxury detached Lakeland cottage in the village of Lorton sits in a hidden gem of a valley and is a year round destination . Two beautiful bedrooms one of which can turn into single beds and each with their own bathrooms offers flexibility for both couples and families. We have a well equipped cooks kitchen with Everhot range and a stocked larder. Parking for three cars , EV charger , bike storage , gardens and a BBQ this is a great base to enjoy the magic of our Lakeland valley.

Our cedarwood lodge has been designed and built for our family and friends to use when they visit. It is in a rural setting about 4 miles outside the market town of Cockermouth but is actually located in the Lake District National Park with stunning views over the fells, Binsey, Skiddaw, Bassenthwaite Lake and Keswick. The lodge has been designed to make the most of those idyllic views and is a retreat for anyone wanting to relax, unwind and enjoy our “world Heritage” status.

Welcome to Highside a delightful cottage set in a secluded location overlooking the tranquil village of Lorton. Dating back to 1695 (as engraved on the fireplace in the kitchen), the cottage retains many original features but has been sympathetically modernised. The cottage resides within our farm, Terrace Farm with open countryside and panoramic views of the Lakeland Fells and numerous Wainwrights including Melbreak, Whiteside, Low Fell, Hopegillhead to name but a few.

Lamplugh is a scattered community and civil parish located in West Cumbria on the edge of the English Lake District and historically part of Cumberland. The site sits between the beautiful fells (Cockermouth/keswick)and the wonderful seaside(Allonby/Silloth/St Bees) You are a short walk from Cogra Moss and Mockerkin Tarn a lovely walk or a day of fishing ! Or just a relaxing holiday in our peaceful caravan !

Our cosy, open plan ‘studio’ style accommodation for 2 is in the beautiful Lake District National Park, overlooking the fields & fells and 10 miles from the Solway coast, beaches & harbours. Granted UNESCO World Heritage Status in 2017, this area makes an ideal base for touring NW Cumbria, cycling, hiking fells & round lakes, climbing, canoeing, an en-route stopover for the Coast to Coast Cycle Route or a peaceful, romantic location for a countryside retreat.
