Lagrasse is classed as one of France's most beautiful villages & lies in the foothills of the Corbières between Carcassonne and Narbonne and only 40 minute from the beaches of the Mediteranean. The village has 6 restaurants, pizzeria, a bakery 2 café/bars, artisanal shops, 2 epiceries, tabac, post office, cash dispenser, doctors & chemist. The river Orbieu provides excellent swimming in the summer months. Lagrasse's Abbey founded in the 8th century, is shared between the commune and the Chanoines monks both of whom welcome visitors. The village is very animated in the summer months with various music festivals, piano concerts,theatre, circus ,pottery & book fairs also a fine firework displat on the 14th July followed by animayions and on the 14th an even bigger display in nearby Carcassonne. From the moment you open the substantial front door, Mother Nature invites you in with a sweeping vista of the tree-lined limestone cliffs across the way and lush plant life blooming all around. Droves of doves and swifts constantly coo and dart their way back and forth across the expansive sky above, roosters crow, church bells chime, and the Orbieu River provides soothing background music around the clock as it continues to flow by the rocky beach and garden terrace just below.

The house is situated in the beautiful medieval village of Lagrasse with its cobbled streets, quiet squares, 8th century abbey and very own river beach for swimming all a short walk away. The house, is centrally placed in a quiet road with no through traffic. There is excellent wifi throughout the house. A fully equipped kitchen/dining room. Two double bedrooms, one of which has 2 additional sofa beds and a desk for home working. A modern bathroom with large shower.

Rue de la Poste: friendly village tranquility

3 rue de la poste, Vignevielle is our holiday home in France. It is a beautiful old building that we have made into a small, simple home for the holidays. The village itself is quite remote, being 30 minutes by car from the nearest grocery shops. Our guests enjoy the tranquility of village life and the beautiful scenery. La gargouille des corbières Cuve à vin habitable

La gargouille est un gîte insolite, rénové dans une ancienne petite cave viticole au beau milieu des Corbières à l'extrémité d'un vieux village de 30 habitants; en pleine nature sur 5000 m² de terrain exposé sud donnant sur la garrigue d'où partent de nombreux sentiers de randonnées. La bâtisse est composée d'une ancienne cave viticole et d'une ancienne bergerie habité par les propriétaires. Les deux parties sont complètement indépendantes.

À l'ombre de l'église

Au coeur des Corbières, venez vous ressourcer à l'ombre de l'église du village, avec autour de vous la nature sauvage, riche d'odeurs du Sud, comme une invitation à flâner. Le logement est une ancienne ruine restaurée, dans un village où la route s'arrête pour laisser la place aux chemins du maquis.
