We are in wonderful West Hawthorn, across the river from Richmond but with the amenities, parks, playgrounds, wide leafy streets and houses set in lovely gardens that make the Hawthorn area so desirable. The house has been newly renovated specifically for Airbnb. We can accommodate up to 6 (typically four adults, two children) so you are saving 2 hotel rooms at least. There is off street parking for 2 cars and it's 5 minutes walk to train and Melbourne's famous trams. The Yarra River bike and walking trail is nearby as are access to the Monash and Eastern freeways . We are 3 minutes walk to West Hawthorn village with cafes, restaurants, a great pub, wine bar, supermarket, butcher and chemist. In a little over 10 minutes you can walk to an amazing range of dining experiences - We are happy to make recommendations. The quiet neighborhood is made up of bike and walking paths, oak-lined streets, and parks. With a myki card (available from a nearby shop) you can catch a train (10 minutes to the city, less to MCG or Rod Laver Arena) or hop on a tram (20 minutes to the city). We are on the Belgrave, Lilydale, Alamein train lines and the No 75 Vermont South to City tram line. If you prefer, bike riding is popular and driving is easy.

A uniquely Melbourne experience - perfect for an extended (or short) stay. The Stables were originally built in 1880 for the horses that serviced the Victorian home they are situated behind. The Stables have been converted into a spacious, sun-lit, private, fully self-contained accommodation over 2 levels with a shared garden and independent access (allowing you to come and go as you please). It is a short stroll to great food, leafy Edinburgh Gardens, public transport and bike paths.

Trains, trams and buses are between 5 & 10 minutes walking distance. 5 train stops to Jolimont Station, for MCG & Melbourne Park. A Visitor's Parking Permit is available for free, unrestricted parking on the street outside the residence.

My mum 'Patricia' was pretty quirky, and so is this whimsical place. 100 years old, and an Alphington institution...this adorable shopfront is one of the areas most loved and iconic buildings. The interior is warm and spacious, with plenty of room to rest or work, and everything you need for a comfortable stay.
