A warm & bright lake cabin welcomes you to Two Island Lake with a sunny south-facing waterfront, private dock, row boat, canoes, paddleboards & a campfire overlooking the water. Float the lake, cozy up by the woodstove, or awe at brilliant dark skies. Venture out by bike, boat, ski, snowmobile to 15 different lakes within a 10 min drive/OHV. Experience the magic of solitude (3mi to BWCA Wilderness, 5min to Eagle Mtn hiking) and then head 12-25min to the beloved Raven Rock Grill or Grand Marais.

The Lena Dome (5 min to Grand Marais)

Reconnect with nature at this unforgettable escape. Directly on the Pincushion Trail System (which links to the Superior Hiking Trail) you'll find endless hiking options right outside your door. The Lena dome is 5 minutes from downtown Grand Marais where you can eat at amazing restaurants, hear great live music, enjoy time by Lake Superior, and explore beautifully curated local shops. This clean, modern, Scandinavian-feeling cabin, sleeps up to 5; 1 Queen, 1 pull out couch, 1 twin bed. We also have a full-sized washer and dryer for your clothes after a day of hiking or skiing. If you’d like an early check-in or a late check-out, simply ask as we can usually accommodate these requests.

A five-minute hike through the forest leads you to the front door of The Burrow, our off-grid GUEST cabin on a hill just above Tucker Lake. A unique experience on the Gunflint Trail, our hideaway provides an opportunity for solitude at the edge of the wilderness without giving up the comforts of home. A short walk down a hill to the lake gives you direct BWCA access from our private dock and opportunities for adventure and relaxation with provided snow shoes, paddle boards and a canoe.

Storybook Northwoods Log Cabin on Lake Superior

Painted Rock sits on a quaint spit of ledge rock, between Lutsen and Grand Marais, on the edge of Cascade State Park. This historic log cabin has been lovingly restored to retain all its original charm and history, while updated with all the luxury amenities. A large Main Room is home to a wood-burning fireplace and picture windows that bring the Big Lake indoors in all seasons. A bathroom with a soaker tub and heated floors. Guests must sign a rental agreement to complete the reservation
