Kono's is somewhat of a local institution, mainly a breakfast spot, but also some good lunch. Simple good food, but bang for your buck on quantity. Get there early because the line gets long. If it's a nice day, be sure to scuttle around the opposite side of the boardwalk to the hidden deck area to overlook the ocean while you eat. Bring cash, because they don't take cards... I recommend the big breakfast 1 or 2

Restaurant by day, social hot spot by night. A tiny bit on the pricey side, but the food quality is much better than a standard bar and the ambiance is quite nice.
