Very spacious 2 bedroom cottage solely for guests use (opened Jan 2023) Open plan lounge, dining, kitchenette area Jug, toaster, microwave, toasted sandwich machine, electric frypan, fridge/freezer, air fryer, rice cooker. Bedding includes 2 x queen size beds ,2 x king single beds plus a rollaway bed.. Dargaville township 10-15 min walk. Suitable single, couples, family, business guests. next to a dairy 7 days and takeaways 5 days. Kai Iwi Lakes 20mins drive approx. Stay 1 night or longer.

Kauri Lodge is perched on the edge of the cliffs at Pouto, offering breathtaking views of Kaipara Harbour. Secluded and private, it's the perfect retreat for a romantic getaway. Our lovely 1920s Bach is a one-minute walk from the beach which is over 100kms long. With quirky character & few mod-cons this is a place to be away from the TV, rest up & enjoy stunning nature on the doorstep. We have kept as many original features as possible, so you get to experience a traditional Kiwi holiday - with a few added comforts. We are dog friendly - check the house rules. Fibre WIFI very efficient. BBQ available. Maximum guest number is 3 including children/infants/babies.

We are the perfect base if you are exploring the Pouto Peninsula or looking to head to the gorgeous Kai Iwi Lakes or Trounson Park, home to the mighty Tane Mahuta. On 20 acres of farmland, we have 4 cattle, pet goats and a flock of suffolk sheep.

Treehouse in the Forest Canopy | Reclaimed Kauri

Wild Forest Treehouse Like a magic carpet ride in the canopy of the forest. A 120 year old Kauri villa was about to be torn down. We rescued the French doors, sarking, weatherboards, windows, flooring and shower fittings, then used them to build Wild Forest Treehouse. A space nestled into the forest slope, so that with all sets of French doors open, you're not looking down at the canopy. You're living inside it. Everything has had a life before this place. You can feel it.

We are only 75mins drive north of Auckland, 10 mins off the number one highway. The cottage is built from beautiful untreated hardwoods set in a tranquil private spot, nestled on the edge of a regenerating native forest. The cottage is only a 2min walk down to the beautiful Kaipara Harbour. Our place is part of a 25 year old 300 acre organic permaculture farm, which we were instrumental in setting up as a working farm and village style subdivision.
