Inside, comfortable open living room and full kitchen, two cozy cool bedrooms, new lux bathroom. Big tv and gas fireplace, games and music, endless windows and views. We cherish this place and island as a part-time home and writing retreat and we love to have others come share in a bit of lake island life.

Enjoy a luxurious bathroom, with a heated tile floor, walk-in shower. Towels, shampoo/conditioner/bodywash are provided. King bed in loft and NEW king gel memory foam bed on main floor. Smart TV, wi-fi. Woodstove heats the cabin perfectly as the main heat source. All wood is provided for woodstove and firepit. There is a minisplit heat/ac unit.

Wild Pines Cabin: A-frame w/ Lake Superior views

Located 5 minutes from Split Rock Lighthouse, Wild Pines Cabin is a completely renovated 1974 a-frame that sits atop 40 private acres overlooking Lake Superior. During your stay, hike through the property, catch glimpses of wildlife, sip coffee by the fire while taking in the sunrise over the lake, or step out to nearby Gooseberry, Black Beach, or Tettegouche. Nestled in the middle of the Bayfield County Forest, this rustic, minimally maintained yurt has direct access to miles of non-motorized rec trails (CAMBA single track and Mt Ashwabay nordic ski and hiking trails). Enjoy panoramic views of Lake Superior including; Pike's Bay, four of the Apostle Islands (Madeline, Basswood, Stockton and Michigan) and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Come prepared to relax, unwind and explore the wonders of the north woods. Yurt access is 3/4 mile uphill.

We couldn’t be more heart warmed, to welcome you to our little piece of Heaven in the World! 21 acres with over 600 feet of private sandy shores on the most spectacular bay of Lake Superior. There’s a Lake House with currently 2 bedrooms to share(Note: 2nd bedroom is in an open loft). Short path and then 12 steps to the beach! There’s an adorable boat house too, that’s where we stay when we are up at the Lake. Beautiful silence, darkness, adventure, and serenity awaits.

Hippophile Farm Get-a-way Garden Apartment

The space is a newly renovated apartment on the lower level of our home which is located at our private horse farm on Madeline Island. It is light, bright, with a modern and clean look. It has all the things you need to relax and rejuvenate after spending a day exploring Madeline Island. Enjoy the beautiful woods surrounding the apartment or take a walk to our beautiful stables on the property. Bring your horses if you wish, or just come to enjoy the scenery.
