State Forest is a great place that has bike and hiking trails throughout. It's a safe place for all ages.
There are so many hiking trails throughout the island, the closest being at Duarte's Pond right next to our road. Meander along the shore line to the trailhead and you can access many trails, walk across the footbridge, see the swans, and experience nature without the crowds of summer. Look online for all the trails you can access.
It's just up the road from us...just look for the trail head sign directing you off Lambert's Cove Road. Parking beside the pond is available and then you can walk across a footbridge nestled between lilypads and visiting birds. From there you'll enter a trail system within the woods.

Flying Horses
Listed in the historical listings is the oldest carousel in the US, the Flying Horses is a wonderful delight for both young and old, where you can still capture the "brass ring".
The cliffs are located on the far point of the island. Just off these cliffs is the area where JFK Jr. went down in his plane in 2000. This area belongs to the Native Wampanog tribe who still live in the area and sell local merchandise that might interest you.

I have enjoyed this store for over 30 years. I wear 2 charm bracelets from them...each year my children would get a charm for me to add to my bracelet. Recently, I purchased another bracelet and added charms to it as well.

Prices at this store are more reasonable. I always get my groceries here. In a pinch, I will go to Cronig's, but their prices are not as low; however, they do have a GREAT salad bar that you can enjoy and you just pay by the weight of your salad.

Nomans
Located between Oak Bluffs and Edgartown near Farm Neck Golf Course. Very family friendly. Tacos and sandwiches plus bar. Closes at 10pm. Quite often have live music...so call ahead if that interests you.
The Black Dog originated here on the island. I love going to the restaurant on the harbor so I can watch the ferries come and go. Outdoor deck for summer dinner enjoyment as well as indoor seating.

Restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Located just off the shore overlooking the ferry dock and boardwalk in Oak Bluffs.
I like this place because it is open year round, has its own micro-brewery, and offers a variety of choices including seafood, specialty pizzas, salads, etc.
