We have two local dams which can be seen from US 62 W. I love to watch them!
You can drive through this compound and see the elk and bison roaming wild. Children love it... heck! I love it, too! There is a fee to drive through... I can't remember how much.

This is my favorite place to hike. I recommend the Upper Canal Loop. Pick up maps in the North Visitors Center and step out into a wild and wonderful paradise!

You can have a hike from this location, too. However, I urge you to stick around for the animal interactive shows and the local planetarium as well. Boat rentals can be had from this location.
