Kadıköy is a chill out place with cheap bars full of students and young people. Music is mostly rock or alternative, reggae and such. I highly recommend for a relax evening out.

Bebek has also a great sight seeing, very nice restaurants and bars but expensive though. Access is easy from Taksim by bus or cab.
