The store farms its own exquisite oysters, and prepares them three ways: raw, Rockefeller (piled with spinach and cheese), or, the local specialty, barbecued (grilled with house-made barbecue sauce). This place is cool as it is in an old brick building near the brickyards. Almost like a cave inside. If you like Fondue, then this is a spot you can't miss. Good for celebrating birthdays or special occasions, they have balloons and other special party favors. Great wine list and also reasonable pricing for Marin.

A kind of Marin "scene" for singles at the bar at times, but the food in the restaurant is really good. Often have music on the weekends. If in Mill Valley, I would definitely check this out.

If you like Thai food then this is a really good spot. Located right near the freeway in San Rafael you have to go under the freeway in the parking lot between 3rd and 4th. It is in the old French Quarter buildings and the food is really amazing.

My favorite hangout downtown if I want to go have coffee and read, meet business associates, or have lunch. Right next to the San Rafael theater, a very convenient spot for day or night. And the movie poster of Amalie gives it a bit of a European feel.
