Both the Grillmarket and the Fishmarket are great and operated by the same chef. At the Grillmarket they try to buy everything direct from farmers and the meat there is so good. It’s personally my favorite place here in Reykjavik and I always go for the meat gourmet which is a combination of beef, lamb and duck. But if you are not a big meat person the Fishmarket is good for fish as well. Both of these places are very popular and you will have to make reservations if you go there over the weekend. And they are both pretty fancy as well.

It’s a good place for every hour of the day,they have a large menu so you can always find something you like. It’s fairly priced and casual. Good for drinks as well.

The building is a fine example of Nordic modernism, it features floor-to ceiling windows that look onto the beautiful Klambratún Park. There is a nice café there as well.
