One of the best places to go if you want to get to know the Umbrian gastronomy! Typical dishes, many with the famous truffles. Watch out though, the portions are pretty substantial!

When you are visiting Perugia you should absolutely consider dining at this restaurant! It's an experience you won't easily forget. The cook/owner is the same person who owns Oasi Verde Mengara and if you tell we sent you, he will even treat you better then he already does, if that is even possible...

Visiting Assisi? Make sure you look at the prices before sitting down especially when you want to enjoy a terrace. If you don't want anything exceptional consider eating at Otello, honest prices for very good food!

Not too far from La Vallata so if you want to get out for some good food but don't want to be driving too much, Il Poeta Contadino is a good choice. It's not my favorite place because of the too intense lights, but the food is really good!

Well... It's a bar, but also an excellent pizzeria! So it's not the place you go to for a romantic evening, but you do get to mingle with the locals in an absolute informal way. The pizza's are good! We like to go there for a beer (they have some special ones too) and pizza on a champion's league game evening, not even really watching the game, but enjoying the atmosphere with the locals.

Now this one I really shouldn't be telling you about because it's one of my favorite and I like to eat in peace :-P. It's a very small not really restaurant... A "fraschetta" historically was actually a place where you went with your own food and where you bought your wine. It is still pretty common in Rome but of course you can't bring your one food anymore. The menu is very limited but there are always some dishes not on the menu, the waiter (well, it's not really a waiter ether) will tell you what else is available, in Italian... If you want to eat outside you'll have to make reservations because the terrace is minuscule. Most dishes are cold! Go there for the wine, not only to eat!

You would never find it if we didn't tell you about it... The food is of the normal local kind (lot's of meat and pasta), but they made it a very special place because of it's location and the very well cured garden around it. It's not far from La Vallata, and you'll feel in harmony with the surroundings!

This place is among the most popular with the locals and the students. For a very good price you eat whatever they serve (no, you don't get to choose!),, including water and wine, coffee and desert. It's always good though, the only problem is you might have to eat something you don't like.
One of the most popular restaurants in the region. Food is good, place is very nice and during summer time they have a very nice terrace. I recommend this it for families with children because they have pizza, french fries and a nice playground!

Entertainment & Activities

It's a pretty long drive even though we are used to do some millage. But if you have kids bugging you about swimming it is cool place to go to. Not the mega big water park but exactly that makes it so enjoyable. Very well kept lawn, umbrellas and deckchairs are available at a low cost. You will not be panicking about the whereabouts of your kids all the time because its not very big. If you go weekends go early because it gets pretty crowded after 10am, during the weekdays it's pretty calm most of the time.

360° panoramic view over the region! Do you need more explanation? No? Well I'm going to give you some anyway! I recommend to combine it with visiting Assisi. This is the tour I suggest to our guests: Santa Maria degli Angeli: la porziuncola in the basilica. Assisi: Basilica San Francesco and Santa Chiara Rocca maggiore, Eremo delle Carcere (outside Assisi towards Parco del Monte Subasio), Parco monte Subasio, Collepino, Spello... It's a full day but it's one of my favorite tours because you have some culture, some nature and time for a Prosecco!
