This literally is a "mom and pop" wine shop. Josiah and Stevie recently celebrated the birth of baby Foxen. They know their wines, so you can be confident in their recommendations. Plus, it's a community gathering spot. You can purchase bottles to take to go or open any bottle in the shop, learn a bit about it, and enjoy it with friends or neighbors for just $5 corkage on top of the retail price. They offer a small selection of wine-friendly snacks that can be enjoyed picnic-style at the communal table.

You probably don't need an introduction to Whole Foods. I'm listing it here because it's sooooo convenient to your apartment. If you only need a few things, grab a shopping bag or cart in the kitchen closet and walk to WF, which is often easier and quicker than parking.

Winner of the East Bay Express Reader Poll as the “Best Movie Theater” almost every year, it offers the Bay Area's best movie-going experience at a reasonable price. The Mighty Wurlitzer Organ is played before Friday and Saturday evening shows in the Main Auditorium. What a retro treat!
