A general tip is to check out the walking tours of Stockholm at Wikivoyage. Completely free with lots of information. One favorite is about historical Stockholm:
A 500-meter long (quarter mile) walking path with a magnificent view of Lake Mälaren, City Hall, and Riddarholmen, especially at sunrise and sunset. The path is lined with charming houses on one side and a beautiful view on the other. Bring your camera!

Great restaurants, beautiful location, and shopping too. But try the smaller streets and Österlånggatan for the shopping instead of the touristy Västerlånggatan.

Som great restaurants like The Veranda but soon opening an exclusive vegetarian restaurant as well (written in Januari 2017). I can recommend a very traditional afternoon tea at Grand.
