The Schrannenhalle in Munich was built from 1851 to 1853 by Karl Muffat as corn exchange on the outskirts of the Viktualienmarkt (the official name was Maximilian cereal Hall). Schranne then designated a grain market. The Schrannenhalle was the first building in iron construction in Munich.
