The C-train can take from the deep south into the city core. There is fare required outside the main core of downtown. No fare is required within the downtown core.

Calgary's weather is unpredictable. It is always colder in the mountains so dress in layers and wear comfortable footwear. Especially if hiking or doing outdoor activities. Bring an extra bag with warmer clothes, toques and mittens, and snow pants, boots, etc. Keep it in your car just in case. For example, we went to Lake Louise in August and had to purchase toques and mittens for us and our son.
