Gagnlegar setningar

How to get better prices.

Peruvians like to “regatear” - haggle prices. To get the best price, after you’ve done an initial negotiation, end by saying, “¿Nada menos para animarme?” This means, any less to convince me to buy. The seller will lower the price to the base price, always.

How to not get robbed.

Lima, like any big city, has thieves. The best way to avoid their attention is to dress down and not have your cell phone out for too long. Keep your backpacks in front of you if you travel on a crowded bus or train. If someone you don’t know hails you, be alert to your surroundings. Peruvians are generally lovely. But Peruvians don’t trust themselves, so be like Peruvians. Trust no one you don’t know.
