Wild Elder has really nice sandwiches and charcuterie plates for a quick bite. The have a lovely courtyard for eat in, or you can take it to go for a picnic by the river.

Surprisingly good sushi for a small town in the Poconos! They offer a variety of noodle dishes as well in a fun atmosphere. Only down side is lack of a good beer menu.

The Gorge (down the road in the little town of Weissport) is your best option for a tasty brunch. It is on the pricier side, but the setting in an old silk mill is quite nice. Their sister coffee shop next door is super solid.

You will be most delighted by the town if you allow yourself to stray a bit from your schedule. Wander into our shops and museums, chat with the friendly shopkeepers, and most of all, take your time! It continuously blows my mind that more people don’t visit this living museum. Take a 30=40 minute ride through the cute village of Weatherly up to the anthracite region near Hazletown. Eckley’s is a totally preserved village of miner’s housing from the 19th Century. They filmed much of the movie Molly Maguire’s here.

The gentleman who runs the store only opens on weekends, but it is a gem of a place for framed maps of the region, photos from coal years, postcards.. he also has an incredible collection of dollhouse miniatures from when he bought out the property. You could spend hours going through the miniatures alone. So fun for kids and adult kids!1
