Culzean Castle is set on the cliff top overlooking the Firth of Clyde it is set in a beautiful countryside estate with walks, a swan pond, walled garden, cafes and childrens area. There are also some deer and llamas. The inside of the castle can be visited also. Lovely for a day of walking, history and there is a brilliant second hand book shop as well as gift shop.

Dunure is only a short way away and can be driven to in 10 minutes or walked to via the ayrshire coastal path in roughly 3/4 hour. The quaint harbour was used as a back drop in the Outlander series. the local Anchorage Inn is a welcoming pub which serves food and has a beer garden. There also is a small cafe and a gift shop.
