Sightseeing

This is a beautiful rock park and concert hall. We love to go here to hike the bleachers to the top where you can see a full view of the city. Lots of locals will be on the steps working out. We jump 3 steps, do 5 crunches, run to the other side and take a break. Then start over until we get to the very top. There's also about a 1 mile trail located here that we also love, great trail and lots of views along the way. If you can't hike to the top of the amphitheater there is a drop off point at the top where you can drive your car and park as well. There are concerts during the evening so make sure it's open before you go.

My family loves Echo Lake. It's beautiful and great for kids and hiking enthusiasts as well. There is an easy flat trail around the majority of the lake great for everyone with amazing views. There is also a trail entrance for Chicago Lake Trail. This trail is super beautiful but it is on the side if rocks/hills at some points and not suited for kids. The lake is located at the base of the entrance for Mt Evans. Mt Evans is closed often for seasonal weather and road repairs. Drive up to the 14er if it's open during the summer months. From Denver, head into the mountain on I-70, Take Exit 240 at Idaho Springs on Interstate 70. Drive south on Colorado 103 for 13.5 miles to Echo Lake.

If anyone in your group love chocolates or candy canes, then a free tour of the Hammond's factory is the perfect treat! My mom and I took the tour and enjoyed the treats as well as seeing how the candy cane was made. It's definitely a skill. "Hammond's Candies has been handmade in Denver, CO since 1920. Ever wonder how lollipops, candy canes and other Hammond’s treats are made? Bring your curiosity and your sweet tooth for a complimentary tour of our factory. Thousands of kids and kids at heart visit us every year to watch as their favorite treats are pulled, twisted, shaped and packaged by hand—just like they have been since 1920." "With large video screens installed throughout our factory, you’ll get an “up close and personal” look at how our delicious candies are made, while learning about our history in the Mile High City and hearing fun tidbits about the nostalgic candy you know and love. Plus, take home a tasty sweet treat, fresh from our factory!" Here is the link to schedule a free tour: https://hammondscandies.com/products/hammonds-factory-tour

Food scene

We used to eat here a lot while we were dating and love all the food especially the pancake flight. They have great gluten free and other dietary options if needed. It's a great place to have a cheat day or eat really picky and have them specialize your food for allergies.

This is great food at a great price. We love the pulled pork wrap (Lechon Asada Wrap) with plantain chips. It sounds simple but its so juicy and flavorful!! It's hard to find delish food for under $10 and you can here. Check out their food on yelp.com for pictures and a menu.

I love sprouts. This is the closest grocery store that has all the healthy items if you eat a special diet. Sushi is good and $5 on Wednesdays.
