Tickets would be worth booking in advance but sometimes you can get last minute seats, this outdoor theatre was carved into the cliff and the backdrop of the sea is other worldly. It is also close to lands end and pedn vounder beach. This would take you about an hours drive depending on traffic but a lovely day trip.

Kynance which is often pictured due to its beauty, it is a slightly longer drive c.30 minutes, but well worth a visit if you can.

Gweek itself is a lovely destination, it has a much loved village pub and is based on a creek so when the tide is in lovely little boats are bobbing away. The Sanctuary is located amongst a residential setting, but once you have parked up it takes you on a lovely walk to where the seals are located. The aim is to fully rehabilitate the seals and release them back once at full health. You can see the seal hospital, several pools for varying levels of age plus two rather fabulous sea lions who live here permanently. You can also take the woodland walk to see some other residents, it is a gentle day out in a rather marvellous location.

The distinctive twin towers of the Lizard Lighthouse mark the most southerly point of mainland Britain, the lighthouse is a landfall and coastal mark giving a guide to vessels in passage along the English Channel and warning of the hazardous waters off Lizard Point. The coastline is particularly hazardous, and from early times the need for a beacon was obvious. Sir John Killigrew, a philanthropic Cornishman, applied for a patent. Apparently, because it was thought that a light on Lizard Point would guide enemy vessels and pirates to a safe landing, the patent was granted with the proviso that the light should be extinguished at the approach of the enemy. Cornwall is steeped in history often overlooked and this gem is just another interesting part of our rich tapestry!

Food scene

Porthleven is a beautiful fishing village, with a number of local shops selling arts, crafts, jewellery and much more. It has also recently become a culinary hub. The ever fantastic Jude Kereama (featured on Great British Menu) has 2 restaurants based there Kota and Kota Kai. Michael Caines recently took over the previously owned Rick Steins, and a personal favourite is The Square.

If you want a great night out you cannot beat St Ives for its atmosphere and food. I would highly recommend Beer and Bird if you want some tasty food!
