25 min drive to this wonderful beach with a great boardwalk , snack bars, and the BEST fresh donuts on the planet at Britt's. Go early and fall in love! There are also concerts , and fireworks.

It's history of success during WWII is documented through the banners and flags which it displays proudly on the ship. Note: watch out for are the stairs. They're quite small and steep, so use them carefully. The gift shop had a large selection of cool stuff at typically high gift store prices

Loved the in-depth stories about real people in a stunning historic home - including Mr. Gould, Miss Belle, and Sarah and Guy, the enslaved servants who made the household run. It is a site worth visiting and contributing to help them with its ongoing preservation.

Loved the in-depth stories about real people in a stunning historic home - including Mr. Gould, Miss Belle, and Sarah and Guy, the enslaved servants who made the household run. It is a site worth visiting and contributing to help them with its ongoing preservation.
This is a great walk, not super long, but good for watching birds, passing boats, and people downtown. The river boat tours are also outstanding to get a different view of the riverfront. One of the best places in Wilmington. Enjoy the walk, weather, and restaurants. Plenty of action in the streets on the weekend.

We walked the historic district and fell in love with the beautiful homes that had so much personality and charm. Many home have signage that shares historical information about events and people.

Public Transport system

Wilmington does have a public transport bus system. Route 103 has a stop at Social Coffee and supplies which is a 10-15 min. walk. The bus will take you to a nearby shopping centre for just about anything you need; food, clothes, housewares, restaurants, etc. With that said I believe it picks up only every 60 mins. To get to the beaches you would have to switch buses. If you do not have a car, I think the best option is to use Uber car service to get around. I have used it with great success.
