It's one of the greatest beaches in Greece. You can reach it on foot (I would do it only for photos. I dit go on Balos on foot once, but with sun over us, was a bit tiring.) or by ship (taking it from Kissamos).

Amazing pink sand and amazing beach.
Paliochora's beaches are my favourites. Has plenty of choices. Volakas, Grammeno, Gianiskari (the best for me). If you have plenty of time in Chania, don't miss to visit Paliochora!

The gorge of Samaria is situated in the National park of Samaria, in the White Mountains in West Crete. This majestuous gorge is considered one of the great attractions of Crete and many tourists want to visit it. But you must realise that it is a long (5 to 7 hours) walk on rough terrain so you will need to have a certain degree of fitness and walking experience in order to enjoy it.
