Karst Spring Hike, Mount Shark Kananaskis & Food Pairing

This outstanding hike begins in the Mount Shark parking lot along Spray Lakes Road. The hike starts off as a gentle logging road and then a narrower trail; it follows a mossy creek and then approaches the spring. There is minimal elevation gain and a great chance to spot moose in the meadows. • Food Pairing: Refresh after a hike at Karst Spring by visiting the Grizzly Paw Brewing Company in Canmore and their incredible handcrafted beers and sodas made from glacier-fed water. Imagine the water cascading down Karst Spring becoming transformed into a delicious hoppy beverage. The Burgers are great too!

Grassi Lakes Half Day Hike in Canmore with Food Pairing

Please note: Summer 2022, this hike is unavailable The majestic hike begins at the parking lot at Ken Ritchie way. The difficult trail is not very difficult at all; the trail can be narrow, there are creeks running along it, and in the winter months, it can be icy. The views of Canmore, the waterfall and the 2 upper ponds are stunning. Take the easy way down, which is a wide gentle downhill fire road. - Food Pairing: After this fun walk, you’ll want some great food and some fun conversation. We recommend The Tavern. Their fish tacos are yummy, and on Monday’s, The Wood has wing night.

The trail begins beyond the Nakiska Ski area down the Ribbon Creek Road. This is a fairly long hike with a total 16.4km return. However, the grade is very gentle with moderate elevation gain. Pack some food and some layers. Sometimes even a hat and extra socks and mitts are a good idea! The majestic Ribbon Falls at the end of your journey is well worth the trek. • Food Pairing: After a long day hiking, you’ll want to enjoy a satisfying meal, so head to Canmore and visit Gaucho Brazilian BBQ. Heart Creek hike and Food Pairing

This short hike crosses over a series of bridges through a canyon to a small waterfall at the end. It is a great walk for families of all ages, covering a 3km roundtrip. The trailhead is just east of Canmore near Lac Des Arc; you'll often see cars parked along the highway on the eastbound side of hwy 1 /TransCanada Hwy. More ambitious hikers and scramblers can summit Heart Mountain and enjoy spectacular views of the valley. • Food Pairing: Heart Creek may be the Bow Valley’s most romantic hike, so why not pair it with Sage Bistro. It’s my favourite restaurant in town. Excellent fare with a flare! They also have an incredible wine selection to wind down after a beautiful day in the mountains.
