Directly behind the house is the mountain top "Geitanuken". Its a steep hike but well worth the trip. Just follow the path through the forest and the path towards the top of the mountain.

Bryggen and Fisketorget (the fish market) is basically the two must-sees in Bergen when visiting. If you havent seen both, you havent really been here. The fish market has historic significance and is one of the earliest international fishmarkets.
Feel free to just look around, or buy excellent fresh sea-food. But be warned, its expensive, even for Norwegian standards. Visiting a nearby fish restaurant is better if you want to actually eat more than just a snack.

Car or train-ride required. Voss, if you like extreme sports, this is where you need to go. They have it all. Skydiving, both by plane and by windtunnel. Rafting. Mountain biking. And all other x-games related things. Besides that, its a nice small town (and its on the way to Flåm).

Norwegians usually dont talk to strangers, but for some reason we always greet people when we are hiking. So dont get startled if someone greets you, simply respond back "hei" and carry on :D
